Social Contribution Activity: Extermination of Invasive Plants “Coreopsis lanceolata”
2023年06月22日
On May 24, 2023, with great weather, 15 employees of USJC (7 employees from Environmental Management Section and 8 employees from General Affairs Department) got rid of Coreopsis lanceolata, one of invasive alien species around Mie Plant.
(*Coreopsis lanceolata is a beautiful flower similar to cosmos, but it is tough, reproductive and may have an impact on native ecosystem, so it needs to be exterminated.)
The amount of collected alien species was equivalent to 11 trash bags.
In front of the main gate of Mie Plant No Coreopsis lanceolata was found this year because we got rid of it last year. We also got rid of plants in flowerbed in front of the main gate to plant flower seedlings that the city distributes as Adopt Program (scheduled for June).
