The Second Cleanup Activities and Extermination of Invasive Plants “Coreopsis lanceolatus”

On May 21, 2025, under a cloudy sky, 10 USJC employees cleaned the Airis park that USJC is taking care of through Adopt Program and got rid of Coreopsis lanceolatus(*), one of the invasive alien species around Mie Plant.
The number of the Coreopsis lanceolatus is gradually decreasing, and our efforts are starting to show effects.
(*Although Coreopsis lanceolatus are very beautiful flowers similar to cosmos, we eradicated them as they are very tough and reproductive which may have a negative impact on native ecosystem.)
The amount of collected trash was 4 bags of burnable trash and 1 bag of non-burnable trash.

※We received permission from nearby companies to enter their premises for these activities.
