On Saturday, July 19, 2025, USJC was invited to Kindai University Technical College (Nabari City, Mie Prefecture) as a lecturer for the first open lecture in 2025.

Theme: Prospects and challenges of the semiconductor industry and the attractiveness of Mie Prefecture
Lecturer: Shoji Okuda, Senior Director, Mie Fab

A total of 72 participants, including Nabari citizens, students and faculty members of Kindai University Technical College, attended the lecture on the main theme of “Prospects and Challenges of the Semiconductor Industry”. The lecture covered an introduction and explanation of each process in semiconductor manufacturing and the attractiveness of Mie Prefecture in the semiconductor industry.

Participants commented that they had only heard about the semiconductor industry in the news, and this was the first time for them to know that Mie Prefecture is one of the leading semiconductor industrial areas in Japan, and that it was a very valuable experience for them to touch a completed wafer for the first time.

We are a member of the Chubu Semiconductor Human Resource Conference/Mie Semiconductor Network. In order to develop the next generation of high performing individuals in the semiconductor industry, we are open for requests of visiting lectures at schools throughout Japan for all educational levels from universities to elementary schools,　as part of our commitment to local communities and human resource development.
